We need YOU to help build the Academy from scratch. We need everyone, from teenagers to seniors, from Alaskans to Floridians, from immigrants to Mayflower descendants, to become involved in our movement. There are many ways to help:
Sign the Petition
Write Your Representatives
Make Presentations About the Academy
Become a Googler
Become a Campus Captain
Sign the Petition
The Academy aims to get thousands of signatures on a petition to Congress by December 31. By showing widespread support for the Academy, the petition will help persuade Congress to pass The United States Public Service Academy Act (S. 3958, H.R. 6221). You can help by putting your name on our petition.
Write Your Representatives
It may sound old-fashioned, but writing a personal letter or email to your Representative or Senator is extremely important. The more mail a congressional office gets – particularly if it is personally written and not a form letter – the more attention that the Academy will receive from that office. You can help by writing an old-fashioned letter to your Representative or Senator. Download a letter-writing pack to get tips on writing letters and to read a sample letters. Make Presentations About the Academy
The Academy is a winning idea — the more that people learn about it, the more they will want to support it. We need people who are willing and able to make presentations about the Academy to family, friends, campus clubs, religious groups, and organizations. You can help by planning to make a presentation.
Become a Googler
To help spread word of the Academy and build a network of supporters, we are using the Internet to find kindred spirits. We want to locate people who have supported causes, organizations, and/or political candidates that share our goals. You can help by volunteering your time to conduct this kind of research.
Become a Campus Captain
Campus Captains will coordinate the Academy’s effort to get thousands signatures on the petition. They will be responsible for making the petition widely accessible to students on campus through listservs, web sites, and print media, as well as on hard copies. You can help by signing up to be a Campus Captain.
